The Time I Joined A Gym While Using A Cane

Hello!  Welcome back!  It looks like its 2016.  Yup.  It also looks like I haven’t published anything since September last year.  Yup.  So much has happened since then, and also not a lot.  I wasn’t sure what to post or what not to post…so I just got bummed out and neglected the blog.  It seems like every post in recent history has started out with “Hey, here’s a blog, and also yes, I haven’t written anything in a while”.  But some really close people in my life have been encouraging me to come back to the blog.  And I’m very glad that they did.  For all of the articles I had written about not letting the internet get to you, and to make sure that you are being yourself and creating things because you like to and want to share them, I 100% let myself believe the lie that it wasn’t worth writing or creating because the internet is so big and someone else will have already thought of everything to write about anyway.  Good grief.  That’s not true at all.

In October, I had a very severe ankle injury, was on crutches and using an air cast Continue reading

The Coldest Night of the Year is something that I’ve heard about for a few years, but had never been involved with..until now!  It is happening all over Canada, but what makes it special is that in each place it happens, it directly impacts that community.  It is a national movement that reaches roots down into each community and organizes each one to care for their own people.

It’s time for the Weekly Uplift!  (yay!)

I understand the purpose behind analytics tools (Google Analytics, YouTube views counter, Jetpack, the comment counter on Facebook, the Twitter Analytics tool..etc).  They let you see how many people are visiting your content or sharing it or in some way interacting.  You can use it to figure out what things you are doing well and that your audience likes and what things they might not like as much.  They can be very helpful, but sometimes they can become giant fun-sucking things in your life. Hi everyone!  I am sharing a different kind of post today because I had been thinking about it for a little while (read: long while) and I wanted to share some encouragement with you today!

I love to write about health and discovering new things that will help you along that journey in like (see:  the 80/20 Approach), but I also want you to know that I’m right there with you; learning, trying things, trying other things when those new things don’t work, etc.  Not just in health, but in my career, life, etc.  This website was originally set up as a place where I could talk to you about Bioenergetic Intolerance Elimination (BIE), but I never guessed when I started it how much I would learn or be able to do!

I’ve never been more appreciative for the support and encouragement of friends! Continue reading

For today’s post, I wanted to share a really special fall tradition with you.  Every year, my family treks to Bala, Ontario to the Cranberry Marsh.  We buy lots of cranberries fresh out of the flooded marsh, buy tiny gourds, walk around the marsh, get apple cider and enjoy all things Muskoka!  Every year Bala hosts a Cranberry Festival on the weekend following Canadian Thanksgiving, and it’s always amazing how many people can fit into a tiny Muskoka town like Bala.  (We don’t go that weekend, because it’s just as much fun on other weekends, and you don’t have to spend most of the day waiting in traffic).  I always get the feeling that if I didn’t know how to get to Bala, I’d never find it accidentally.
